John is a fifth-generation Goldsboro, NC native who spent 29 years as owner-operator of Wayne Oil Company — a multi-site petroleum distribution and fuel retail operation where he managed over 200 employees and built deep expertise in every aspect of running a petroleum business. When the family sold Wayne Oil in 2022, John turned his attention to what he'd spent nearly three decades learning: how petroleum operations actually work, where the money gets made, and where it quietly disappears.

That hands-on background is the foundation of Island Edge. John brings a working operator's instinct to every engagement — not a consultant's framework. He knows the difference between what looks good on a report and what actually moves the needle on a 12-site operation at 6am on a Tuesday.

John also brings a strong technology background to the firm, with a particular focus on deploying practical technology solutions that lower operating costs and improve day-to-day operations for petroleum and fuel businesses.

Noelle is one of the most experienced iRely i21 practitioners in the petroleum distribution sector — with a background that spans both sides of the table. She worked directly at iRely Software before taking on one of the most technically demanding ERP implementations in the industry: a full enterprise-wide deployment of i21 across seven operational divisions at Gaines Oil Company, integrating third-party systems including DTN, Axxis, QuickBooks, Otodata, and Nee-Vo.

That combination — knowing the software from the inside and having lived through a complex multi-division rollout as the client — gives Noelle a diagnostic ability that's genuinely rare.
